Backing Up Or Sharing An EasyWeb Site

Video Transcript:

If you have only have one EasyWeb website project, locating the website file to backup or to send to someone is very simple to do. Open the Finder window, and then click on the Go button in the menu bar. Hold down the Alt or Option key on your keyboard, and then click on Library which will appear when you hold down that key.

Then click on Application Support, and then locate the EasyWeb folder. You will then see your EasyWeb site which will be a string of numbers and letters with a .easyweb extension. But if you are like me and have many different EasyWeb projects, here is how to determine what website project belongs to which .easyweb file

First, open up an application called Console. This comes standard on all Macs.

Then, launch the website project from EasyWeb's projects window.

Now, look in Console, and you will see the .easyweb filename for this particular project. Now, just go back to the Finder window which should still be open to the EasyWeb folder, and locate the .easyweb file that you saw in the Console.

Do a secondary click on the file and select Copy. Now you can paste this file anywhere, and then you can either keep it as a backup, or send it to yourself or someone else so it can be used on a different computer.  If you are sending the file to someone else, what I would recommend doing is just pasting it on your desktop, and then do a secondary click and select Compress. This will make sending the file a lot easier for you, and whenever you are done, you can either delete the file or relocate it somewhere else on your hard drive.

Likewise, if you receive a .easyweb file and want to use it on your computer, just place the file into this folder and then relaunch EasyWeb's project window.
